I'm an EXCELLENT mother...
A little background: When Zoey (who is just a hair over two) thinks something is funny she squinches up her nose and says "sooo funny sooo funny" while slapping the air.
Back to the story:
Just like every other day in my extraordinarly exciting life, Z and I were going to pick up Abby from school. On this particular day it was raining really hard. We exited I-12 and were waiting at a red light. It is about a 22 minute trip and she talks incessantly. What makes the chatter hard to manage is that I can't always understand what she's saying because I don't know what she's seeing and I can't put it into context. Not to mention that she will literally repeat things over and over until I acknowledge I know what she's said. I kid you not, one day I counted 28 times that she repeated herself until I couldn't take it anymore and acknowledged her. So...she had been yammering for the ENTIRE 19 minute trip and here we are at the red light and here is what happened:<!--break-->
Z: Its Raining
Z: Its Raining
Z: Mama, Its Raining
Z: Mama, Rain
Me: Yes, I see the rain.
<it is raining sideways toward the drivers side of the car>
Z: Open Window
Me: No, its raining!
Z: Open Window
Z: Open Window and a little whining for effect
Z: Open Window and a little more whining for effect
<I did mention how hard it was raining didn't I?> {note, there was traffic and we sat through two lights}
Me: Ok...here ya go!
<I open the window while turned around looking at her>
When I opened the window the sideways raining rain started to POUR into the car slapping my child in the face and body.
At this point she looks like someone is throwing cheese balls at her the way she is flinching with EVERY drop and I begin to howl with laughter. I am sitting at this light and watching my precious 2 year old get pelted with sideways rain and I couldn't stop laughing.
I put the window up
Z: Face Wet
Z: hanny's (hands for those who don't speak Zoey) wet
Z: Almost in tears 'shoes wet'
I am still laughing but now having to drive through rain and now laughter tears
Z: Mommy ..."NO so funny" "NO so funny" "NO so funny"
Did I mention that I am an excellent mother? :)
On we go...
